Candidates describe Qualcomm software engineer interviews as fundamentals-heavy: resume and project deep dives, OOP, SQL, basic DSA, and team-specific systems topics like multithreading. Formats and outcomes vary by team.

Candidates describe Qualcomm software engineer interviews as broad but fairly basic, with more weight on fundamentals and your own work than on hard algorithm puzzles. In many reports, the resume project walkthrough is the centerpiece: interviewers ask what you built, which stack you used, and why you made specific design choices. Some candidates say the interviewer picked individual resume keywords and asked them to go deeper.
Coding questions are usually described as easy to medium. Reported examples include arrays and strings, hash maps, binary search, two-sum, prime numbers and reversing a string. A couple of candidates also met dynamic programming, such as longest common subsequence. Around that, candidates report OOP concepts in Java, C# or C++, Java 8 features, and SQL, including window functions and database index questions.
One Software Engineer candidate began with an HR screen and then two back-to-back 30-minute technical conversations, the second with a director. Topics included how mutexes work and their limits, CPU cache behavior, OOP and DSP basics, and writing a simple C++ counter while screen-sharing. That candidate followed up several times and never received a decision. Other candidates describe systems-flavored questions such as shell scripting, virtual memory and TCP versus UDP, so the technical emphasis appears to depend on the team. Many reports come from adjacent titles such as System Engineer, so expect some variation in stack and depth.
Outcomes are mixed: some candidates received offers, while others were rejected after short screens or after a final round. Prepare for a conversational interview that rewards clear explanations of your own work.

Candidates report different entry points. Some describe an HR or phone screen about their background and the role. Others describe an online aptitude, MCQ or coding assessment first. One candidate had a Teams call scheduled within days of applying. Prepare a concise summary of your experience and basic coding fluency.
Candidates typically describe one to three technical discussions, often lasting 25-45 minutes. Reported topics include OOP, Java or C# basics, SQL, arrays, strings, binary search and two-sum-style problems. One Software Engineer candidate was also asked about mutexes and CPU cache behavior, and wrote a C++ counter while screen-sharing.
Many candidates report that interviewers spend significant time on resume projects, including the tech stack, design choices and personal contribution. Some say keywords on the resume became follow-up questions, and managerial rounds may lean on this too. Be ready to explain every project and technology you list in plain terms.
Candidates report that later discussions can shift with the team. Examples include shell scripting, virtual memory and networking for systems roles, identity protocols for a security-related screen, and a director conversation in one Software Engineer candidate's process. Confirm the team's focus with your recruiter where possible.
Several candidates describe an HR round covering background, fit, relocation or salary expectations. Timing varies, and one candidate says they were ghosted after following up several times. Outcomes in the reports include both offers and rejections.
