The technical interview was the part I found most important to prepare for. Before that, I completed a computer-science multiple-choice aptitude assessment and a recorded HireVue behavioral interview. The assessment covered core topics such as databases, networking models, object-oriented programming, and programming fundamentals. The behavioral portion was recorded rather than a live conversation, so it helped to have concise answers ready.
My technical interview focused heavily on the language I would be working in, especially Python, and included both theory and coding. I was asked about OOP concepts, including overriding, overloading, and encapsulation, as well as Python dictionaries, how key-value pairs work, exception handling, and an immutable Python data structure. The interviewer then gave me several small coding exercises: counting the frequency of alphabets in a list, filtering prime numbers from a list of numbers, and reversing a string word by word before converting it to uppercase. After the Python questions, we moved into SQL, where I discussed join types and usage, unique keys, and how to identify them in a table.
