I interviewed for a Lead Product Manager – Technical role in Toronto, and the most memorable part of the process was honestly how uneven it was. There were four scheduled rounds in total. The first round with the hiring manager went well — it was professional, positive, and felt like a normal product leadership conversation. After that, though, the process started to fall apart on the coordination side.
The second round was supposed to be a technical screen, but the interviewer was a complete no-show with no advance notice and no follow-up. I waited, then had four days of silence before the recruiter finally got back to me. The third round did happen normally, which made the next miss even more frustrating. The fourth round was a Bar Raiser session with a Director, and that interviewer also never showed up. After both missed interviews, my emails and calls to the recruiter went unanswered for multiple days. Eventually I received a generic rejection with no feedback and no acknowledgment of the missed meetings. The interviewers I did speak with were engaged and professional, but the recruiting process itself felt badly disorganized.
