Across the three reports behind this guide, the technical content centers on SQL and Power BI fundamentals. One senior data analyst candidate was asked to work out the row counts that different join types would return, then to write queries to a stated requirement. Practise predicting INNER, LEFT, RIGHT and FULL join results on small tables until you can reason about them aloud.
A Power BI developer candidate described a session of dozens of questions in about fifty minutes, covering DAX calculations, Power BI basics, ETL concepts and SQL joins, with little introduction. Short, direct answers would have helped there. A data consultant candidate who interviewed for a data analyst role described mostly basic theory in SQL and Power BI, where the challenge was explaining core ideas clearly.
The senior analyst also reports being asked to walk through previous projects in detail. That candidate's technical interviews involved both Synechron and the client team, followed by a managerial and behavioral round and an HR round. Prepare a few projects you can explain end to end, including why you chose each approach.
All three candidates report no offer, and the senior analyst and Power BI candidates describe little or no feedback afterward. Ask early about timelines, and keep other applications moving while you wait.

Real interview reports from people who went through the Synechron process.
I went through Synechron's interview process after being referred by a third-party recruiter, Sierra Solution. The whole thing felt disorganized from the start. I was scheduled for what was supposed to be an HR and technical screening, but it turned into something else entirely. The interviewer—someone from the Synechron team—jumped straight into questioning without any introduction or agenda-setting. In fifty minutes, he fired off over fifty questions at me, rapid-fire, covering DAX calculations, Power BI basics, ETL concepts, and SQL joins. There was no flow to it, no time to think deeply or ask clarifying questions. He seemed intent on drilling me rather than having a genuine conversation, and he never offered corrections or explanations when I stumbled. That alone was draining, but what came after was worse. The interview happened in late September, and after that grueling session, I heard nothing. No feedback, no update, just silence. The recruiter ghosted me completely. Looking back, I wish I'd known what to expect—that this wouldn't feel like a standard technical interview but more like a rapid-fire interrogation designed to catch you out. The lack of professionalism in the follow-up left a bitter taste.
Prep tip from this candidate
If interviewing with Synechron through a third-party recruiter, expect rapid-fire technical questions across multiple topics (Power BI, SQL, ETL, joins) compressed into a short timeframe—prepare broadly rather than deep-diving, and don't expect detailed feedback or smooth communication post-interview.

Synthesized from candidate reports. Individual experiences may vary.
One Power BI candidate came through a third-party recruiter, and a session billed as an HR and technical screening turned into technical questioning with no introduction or agenda. Other reports don't describe the first contact, so it's unclear how consistent this opening is.
Reports center on SQL and Power BI. Candidates mention row counts for different join types, writing queries to a requirement, DAX calculations, ETL concepts and basic theory. One candidate describes rapid-fire questioning with no corrections, so concise answers likely help.
The senior data analyst candidate reports technical interviews with both Synechron and the client team, including detailed walkthroughs of previous projects. Be ready to justify your decisions and tools, though this was reported by a single candidate.
The same candidate reports a managerial and behavioral round, then an HR round, for five rounds in total. No specific questions were shared for these stages, so preparing general stories about your background and collaboration is a reasonable approach.
The senior analyst never received a decision or feedback, and was told by HR to take another offer rather than wait. The Power BI candidate also heard nothing after the interview. The data consultant received a no-offer response. Ask about timelines early.
