Our candidates report that FDM Group's process is deceptively simple on the surface but filters hard on two things most applicants don't anticipate: deployability and communication clarity under ambiguity. The early conversations are warm and low-pressure, but beneath that friendliness, recruiters are quickly checking whether you can actually be placed — one candidate was asked mid-interview about relocation because the advertised city didn't match the real position, and another had their call cut short after eligibility questions surfaced around residency status. These aren't afterthoughts; they're central to how FDM evaluates fit.
The gamified or pattern-based assessments are the part that catches people off guard. Multiple candidates described tests that felt genuinely disconnected from Business Analysis work — abstract shape sequences, decision-style games, obscure prompts that were hard to finish. We think the signal here isn't domain knowledge at all, but rather how you handle structured uncertainty, which matters a lot in a placement model where you're dropped into a client environment with limited ramp-up time. One candidate specifically noted the process diagram task — sketching a workflow for a parcel pickup station — as the most revealing practical moment.
What ties the whole process together is narrative coherence: can you walk someone through your career path, explain your experience level honestly, and describe a real challenge without rambling? FDM isn't looking for deep technical expertise at this stage. They're looking for someone who communicates cleanly, adapts quickly, and understands what they're signing up for — including the compensation structure and placement realities that led at least one candidate to withdraw entirely.

Real interview reports from people who went through the Fdm Group process.
