The one DaVita report that is explicitly for a Business Analyst role describes three stages: a behavioral screen, an Excel assessment, and in-person case-study interviews. That candidate received an offer. Two other reports come from related programs (a Summer Analyst program and a Leadership Development Program), so treat them as adjacent signals rather than a description of the Business Analyst loop.
The Business Analyst candidate says the Excel round was a real gate. It covered pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and general spreadsheet manipulation under time pressure. The Summer Analyst candidate also describes Excel testing as difficult. Practicing data aggregation and lookups with a timer is a sensible way to prepare.
The final stage in the Business Analyst report was a panel. The candidate presented a case study from their own work and then worked through an unfamiliar case supplied on the spot. The panel included teammates from different functions and levels. Prepare one well-structured project story and rehearse thinking aloud on an unfamiliar problem.
Behavioral questions appear in all three reports. Candidates mention disagreements with coworkers, team conflict, difficult performance conversations, and core values. The Summer Analyst candidate says healthcare-focused cases did not require prior industry knowledge, though learning the basics may help you ask better questions.
The Leadership Development Program candidate describes repeated phone screens as their resume moved between teams, each followed by a rejection, and mentions quick mental math in a business case. This is one person's experience and may not apply to the Business Analyst role, but it is worth asking recruiters how the process works if you are considered for more than one team.

Real interview reports from people who went through the Davita Inc process.
The interview process at DaVita spanned five rounds total, with two of them conducted in person, and it was definitely more intense than I expected going in. Everyone I spoke with was genuinely kind and thoughtful, but the sheer number of rounds created a lot of stress and uncertainty throughout.
The early rounds were behavioral and case-focused with an entry-level lens. I was asked about my core values and which ones resonated most with me, which felt like a screening for cultural fit. Then came a behavioral question about navigating conflict within a team — something they clearly cared about understanding. The cases themselves centered on healthcare industry scenarios, though they made it clear that prior healthcare experience wasn't required. That was reassuring because my background wasn't directly in that space.
As I progressed to the final rounds, the format stayed the same — behavioral and case questions — but the seniority of the interviewers jumped significantly. I was meeting with senior directors, and the questions felt slightly more complex and nuanced. Alongside the interviews, there were practical assessments using the company's internal management tools. Excel testing came up as well, and it was pitched at a difficult level, so I had to be sharp there. The whole experience tested both soft skills and technical ability, with a real emphasis on how I'd actually work with their systems day-to-day.
Prep tip from this candidate
Be prepared for Excel at a difficult level and familiarize yourself with healthcare industry basics before your cases, even though they say prior knowledge isn't required — it'll help you ask smarter questions. Also, brush up on behavioral stories that demonstrate teamwork and conflict resolution, as those came up repeatedly across multiple rounds.

The Business Analyst candidate reports a first-round behavioral screen about their background, disagreements with coworkers, and difficult performance conversations. The related-program candidates also report behavioral questions, including core values, team conflict, and why DaVita. Expect to prepare concise stories.
The Business Analyst candidate reports a second-round Excel assessment covering pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and spreadsheet manipulation under time pressure, and calls it a real gate. A Summer Analyst candidate also describes Excel testing as difficult, so practicing accuracy and speed is sensible.
In the Business Analyst report, the final stage was in-person. The candidate presented a case study from their own experience to a panel, then worked through a case provided on the spot. The panel included teammates from different functions and levels. Candidates may also see healthcare-flavored cases.
