The gap in interview prep

Here’s something I keep hearing from candidates that nobody writes about: a growing number of people are prepping for behavioral interviews by opening Claude or ChatGPT, saying “act like an interviewer,” and just talking at their phone. Late at night, alone, sometimes the night before the actual interview.

My first reaction was that this sounded kind of desperate. My second reaction, after thinking about it longer, was that it’s actually one of the smarter adaptations to come out of the current job market. The problem isn’t the instinct. The problem is that most people stop at the instinct and never build a real workflow around it.
