Amdocs Software Engineer interviews typically combine an online aptitude/coding assessment with one or two resume-driven technical rounds covering DSA, SQL, OOP, and Java, followed by an HR discussion.

Amdocs Software Engineer and Associate Software Engineer interviews follow a fairly consistent shape, even though stage counts vary by hiring drive. Most candidates start with an online assessment that blends aptitude or reasoning with multiple-choice CS-fundamentals questions and one or two coding problems. One candidate's HackerRank test had 28 multiple-choice questions on aptitude, DSA, OOP, Core Java, DBMS, UNIX, and OS, plus one OOP-based coding question. Another had an hour-long test with two easy-to-medium coding problems and 26 fundamentals questions on SQL, OS, and DBMS. The test rewards breadth more than depth.
Some pipelines then add an integrity or psychometric screen built around workplace-scenario and personality questions. One candidate noted it isn't pass/fail in the traditional sense but still counts toward the evaluation, so answer it thoughtfully.
The technical interview is heavily resume- and project-driven. Interviewers ask candidates to walk through their projects and tech stack. They then move into:
Practical prompts came up too, such as finding the numbers with maximum frequency in an array, implementing undo and redo, and explaining serialization. One candidate was also asked to give pseudocode for real uses of data structures.
Depth shifts with the role and your resume. One candidate with MERN-stack projects, interviewing for a DevOps-leaning role, got React and JavaScript questions plus cloud and deployment basics. Another faced Spring and Spring Boot. A third was asked about cloud, Linux, UNIX commands, and the complexity Kafka adds to a pipeline. One technical round ran about 1.5 hours.
An HR round covering motivation, communication, and culture fit closes the process. Timing varies: one candidate said the full process took over a month, and another found it slow to get started. Prepare core DSA and SQL, be ready to defend your own projects in detail, and expect topic depth to follow the team's stack.

Synthesized from candidate reports. Individual experiences may vary.
Candidates report an initial online test mixing aptitude or reasoning with multiple-choice questions on OOP, DBMS, operating systems, SQL, and UNIX, plus one or two coding problems. One candidate described 28 multiple-choice questions and one OOP-based coding question on HackerRank. Another had an hour-long test with two easy-to-medium coding problems and 26 fundamentals questions. This stage filters for breadth across CS fundamentals rather than deep algorithmic difficulty.
A few candidates mention an integrity or psychometric check between the online assessment and the technical interview, built around how you'd handle workplace situations. One candidate said it isn't pass/fail in the traditional sense but still factors into the evaluation, so it's worth taking seriously.
This is the core of most reported processes, and one campus-drive candidate had two technical rounds focused on DSA. Interviewers ask candidates to walk through their projects in detail, then cover Java/OOP fundamentals, SQL queries such as finding the second-highest number, array and linked list problems, and DBMS or UNIX/Linux basics. Depth varies by role: individual candidates were asked about Spring and Spring Boot, React and cloud deployment, or Kafka's role in a pipeline. One technical round ran about 1.5 hours.
Nearly every reported process ends with an HR conversation covering motivation, communication, and culture fit. Candidates generally describe this round as standard and conversational rather than technical.
