The Opportunity:
The CACI team is looking to add a Senior Data Scientist to their growing software development contract with the Department of State in Rosslyn, VA. The role will support complex and scalable data analytic service and data lake projects that provide business intelligence, analysis, and dashboard reporting to our customer’s mission. The Senior Data Scientist will work with stakeholders to leverage data to drive business value. In addition, you will work with user identity log data to create sophisticated data visualizations that detect suspicious behavior. You will play a crucial role in enhancing our client's cybersecurity efforts by leveraging advanced analytics and machine learning techniques to identify potential threats and anomalies in user behavior.
Responsibilities:
Process and clean large volumes of user identity log data from various sources
Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover patterns, trends, and anomalies in user behavior
Perform feature engineering to extract relevant indicators of suspicious activity
Design and implement advanced data visualizations that effectively highlight potential security threats
Develop interactive dashboards for real-time monitoring of user activity and potential security breaches
Apply statistical analysis techniques to establish baselines and thresholds for normal user behavior
Develop and implement anomaly detection algorithms to identify unusual patterns in user activity
Collaborate closely with cybersecurity teams to refine and improve detection criteria and methodologies
Produce regular reports on identified suspicious activities, trends, and potential security risks
Continuously improve visualization techniques and detection methods to stay ahead of evolving security threats
Present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Utilize Azure services, data lakes, and PySpark for efficient data processing and analysis
Create compelling visualizations and reports using PowerBI and Tableau
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field
5+ years of experience in data science, with a focus on security analytics or anomaly detection
Strong programming skills in Python, with proficiency in PySpark
Expertise in data visualization tools, specifically PowerBI and Tableau
Experience with Azure cloud services and working with data lakes
Proficiency in SQL and experience working with large-scale databases
Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms, particularly in anomaly detection and classification
Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark)
Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and common attack vectors
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings to diverse audiences
Must have an active Secret clearance
Desired Qualifications:
PhD in a relevant field
Experience working with user identity management systems and related log data
Familiarity with SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems
Advanced knowledge of Azure services related to data processing and security
Experience with real-time data processing and streaming analytics
Contributions to open-source projects or research publications in relevant fields
Certifications in data science, machine learning, or cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CEH)

The Opportunity:
The 35th Intelligence Squadron is looking for a motivated individual who wants to help develop and operationalize Big Data Analytics, while also ensuring the defense of the Department of Defense Air Force Information Network (AFIN). This individual will work with a core group of senior software engineers, data scientists, and analytic developers who collectively curate various technical products (I.e., Big Data analytics, data dashboard visualizations, and cross-domain data traversal solutions). These products equip our customers with the tools and knowledge necessary to better understand, plan, manage, and safeguard the AFIN.

The candidate must be able to work with a fast paced and cutting-edge team. You will provide technical leadership and mentorship to apply data and computer science solutions to resolve issues in cyber threat intelligence and detection mission. Additional responsibilities will include assisting in cultivating the Big Data Platform end user experience, data visualization, designing documentation, coding, code reviews, and analytic testing. You will also provide technical direction and research capabilities to the team that owns the design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operation of the 35 IS’s cyber threat intelligence detection methods and the systems enabling their execution.

Responsibilities:
Analyze data sources to provide actionable recommendations.

Build predictive, prescriptive, or descriptive models supporting 35 IS requirements for intelligence-driven surveillance of Air Force networks.

Build highly scalable and performant solutions adhering to customer requirements.

Interface with requesting organizations/individuals and translate requirements to tools delivered within time constraints given.

Mentor junior software developers and relay technical guidance/expertise.

Ensure appropriate documentation is developed in conjunction with all delivered analytics.

Qualifications:

Required:
MUST have an active TS/SCI security clearance.

5+ years of non-internship professional data science experience.

Master’s degree in Data Science or related field.

DoD 8570 IAT Lvl II Certification.

Skill in conducting queries and developing algorithms to analyze data structures.

Programming experience with at least one of the following languages: Python, Java, Scala, including object-oriented design.

Skill in identifying hidden patterns or relationships.

Skill in labeling data to make it more discoverable and understandable.

Ability to interpret and incorporate data from multiple tool sources.

Programming experience with Apache Spark or other framework for large-scale data processing.

Skill in writing scripts using R, Python, PIG, HIVE, SQL, etc.

Experience with big data visualization.

As an Asymmetric Threat Data Scientist, you will provide support to our government client and their respective Field Offices. You will focus on Financial Crimes, Human Smuggling, Human Trafficking, Contraband Smuggling, Terrorist Organizations and Transnational Criminal Networks. Duties include on a weekly basis, acquire, normalize, and automatically analyze ICE's detention telephone data, which includes call records, video, test, and any other forms of electronic communications data. In addition, you will be required to triage, distill, and exploit said data, scrubbing it against classified and unclassified systems in search of potential national security and law enforcement objectives.

Responsibilities:

You will apply your expertise by reviewing the results of the data exploitation, generate law enforcement operational leads and investigative referrals on unclassified and classified networks. Moreover, through your analysis of the data you will identify and document previously unknown linkages of subjects in ERO detention facilities with criminal and/or terrorist subjects and conduct further network analysis.

You will bring these qualifications:
