The team develops critical communication capabilities for air traffic control, air-to-ground data communication, secure access to situational awareness data and secure information sharing to state agencies. The Mission Networks Cloud team leverages Cloud Service Providers (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) in delivering modern solutions to support customer operations and information management services. We value a strong knowledge of software development best practices and experience delivering & deploying Cloud ready applications and services. The Cloud Software Architect will work with internal and external customers to design, develop, and field Cloud architectures that meet the systems requirements and be involved through the systems development lifecycle, including pursuit, developing a technical baseline, developing requirements, system level software design, integration support, and system level testing and selloff. Provide hands-on assistance to implementation and R&D teams to execute the development of awarded programs. Serve as technical expert in latest industry trends, tools and methodologies to continuously improve the delivery of our solutions. Essential Functions: <ul style="margin-bottom:16.0px; margin-top:5.0px"><li>Support Business Development team by writing white papers, performing trade studies, participating in fast prototyping and writing technical responses for proposals & new program pursuits</li><li>Interface with customers to understand use cases and define requirements, design Cloud capable solutions, support system level testing, and field the solution in customer environments to support the mission</li><li>Leverage existing domain experience hosting solutions in Cloud environments</li><li>Design large-scale distributed systems using microservices and containers</li><li>Create and maintain virtualized, containerized and/or Cloud ready environments used by the software teams. This includes periodic updates to components and tools to stay current with latest revisions and security updates</li><li>Work with security teams to help define and implement security controls</li><li>Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on Cloud, Microservices, IaC, and DevSecOps topics to lead teams in supporting enterprise solutions</li></ul>Qualifications: <ul style="margin-bottom:11.0px; margin-top:5.0px"><li>Bachelors Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In Lieu of degree, minimum 16 years of experience.</li><li>5+ years leading software teams to deliver enterprise solutions that implement RESTful Web Services, Microservices and/or Cloud components (AWS preferred).</li><li>3+ years of experience in leveraging CSPs to host Cloud based solutions involving Cloud computing, Containers, VPC, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and Security Groups</li><li>3+ years designing a scalable infrastructure and automated deployment in Cloud environments leveraging tools to support pipelines and containers such as Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes.</li></ul>Preferred Additional Skills:<ul style="margin-bottom:11.0px; margin-top:5.0px"><li>Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA public trust or Top Secret clearance</li><li>AWS Solutions Architect and AWS Sys Ops certification(s)</li><li>Kubernetes Administrator certification(s)</li><li>Experience using scripting languages such as Python, Bash or other shell scripting</li><li>Experience developing applications that leverage relational and noSQL databases (Cassandra, MariaDB, InfluxDB, EnterpriseDB)</li><li>Experience with IaC tools like CloudFormation, Terraform, Puppet or Ansible</li><li>Experience with iterative software development processes (Agile, SCRUM, Kanban)</li></ul>

Duties/Responsibilities
* Evaluates requirements, proposes solutions, explores design trades to support a design.
* Designs algorithms using modern theory and proven techniques.
* Develops embedded software based on prototype algorithms with supervision.
* Analyzes designs to demonstrate performance and functionality.
* Develops and executes software tests to check compliance with requirements.
* Evaluates results to establish problem causes and develop solutions for inefficient or problems.
* Prepares technical data, procedures, reports, drawings, manuals, and other required documentation.
* Communicates with customers and stakeholders to establish requirements and describe the design and deliverables.
* Drive solutions to complex problems with limited direction - contribute to requirements development and architecture solution ideation.
* Ability to take responsibility for subset of engineering scope.
* Identify program/system-level technical risks and develop and execute mitigation strategies for them.
* Actively mentor less experienced engineers.

* Excellent knowledge of OS coding techniques IP protocols interfaces and hardware subsystems.
* Expertise in software development for real-time systems.
* Mastery of high level development languages (e.g. C/C++, Rust)

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Knowledge of software configuration management tools defect tracking tools and peer review processes.
* Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines.
* Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
* Experience with UML/SysML.
* Experience with in-circuit emulators, JTAG debuggers and laboratory test equipment. Education

What You’ll Get to Do :
Provide support to the Office of Space Launch (OSL) and United States Space Force (USSF) under the Mission Assurance Support Contract (MASC). The MASC program provides Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V), Telemetry Operations and Launch Display System in support of the OSL and USSF space launch capability.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain telemetry software tools
Telemetry software configuration and rehearsal/launch operational support at Vandenberg Space Force Base and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station
Interact with other agencies providing telemetry data based on mission requirements
Collaborate with other teams on software development projects
More About this Role :
Tasks are not limited to Telemetry Systems and may include other software tasks to support the MASC program such as Trajectory Simulator development, flight software interface development and other utility software development tasks.
