SPS Commerce is seeking a Financial Reporting Analyst with a strong focus on audit risk and controls. This role is ideal for someone looking to transition from public accounting and/or advance their career with a leading company. The Analyst will collaborate across the Finance team to support internal controls, assist with system implementations, and contribute to strategic initiatives. Day to Day

The Financial Reporting Analyst will partner across the Finance organization to support the Company’s internal control program.  This role will assist in improving existing processes to make them more efficient and reliable.  Last, there will be system implementations and strategic initiatives that this role assists in. Essential responsibilities include:

Partner with business process owners to enhance process documentation around risk assessments, process flow diagrams, control identification and mapping, and process narratives

Manage the SOX certification program ensuring controls are being completed on a timely basis

Perform annual internal control operating effectiveness testing

Complete external audit requests

Assist with SOX documentation related to system integrations, migrations, or enhancements

Review and analyze relevant Service Organization Control (SOC) reports, and the mapping of their user entity controls

Utilize and optimize tools available to assist in the internal control program, such as Blackline (account reconciliations) and Microsoft BC (ERP)

Be a proactive business partner to other departments within the organization by providing accurate and consistent reporting

Execute financial projects and perform other miscellaneous responsibilities and special projects, as needed

Required Skills

Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting

1+ years of public accounting experience or 2+ years of Financial Reporting/SOX experience

Strong understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley and experience in testing SOX related controls and processes

Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information

Ability to communicate effectively with varying levels of management, internal partners, and external audit team

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with ability to manage multiple concurrent responsibilities

Demonstrated experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Nice to haves

CPA (active or inactive)

Internal control/SOX experience as either an auditor or an employee of a publicly traded company

Taft is seeking a Financial Reporting Analyst to support our Accounting team in Taft's Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, Denver, Detroit, Indianapolis or Minneapolis office.    The Financial Reporting Analyst performs a variety of administrative and accounting duties in order to maintain accurate financial records and reports. Duties include but are not limited to preparation of financial analyses, budgets, surveys, and monthly, quarterly & annual reports. Effective communication with attorneys, staff, and clients is crucial along with observing confidentiality of client and firm matters. Duties & Responsibilities:
Prepare reports and financial analyses utilizing the accounting system, report writing tools, and Microsoft Excel.
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting initiatives including management reporting, financial statement analyses, reconciliations, FTE analysis, etc.
Assist various departments with completing surveys.
Perform ad hoc projects, and analyses, as requested. Manage projects from beginning to end to ensure successful and timely completion.
Develop a strong understanding of firm accounting application in order to serve as a "subject matter expert" regarding the financial system and integration.
Utilize report writing tools (Excel/Power Query, SQL, Tableau, etc.) to provide timely and accurate financial information and analysis.
Any job-related tasks as assigned.

Requirements:
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills necessary. Must be able to prepare and summarize complex financial data in an accurate, organized, concise manner.
Strong customer service orientation.
Possess high level of written, verbal, comprehension, and communication skills. Must be able to actively present information and ideas across multiples levels of the organization.
Excellent organization and detailed oriented project management skills. Requires ability to manage and prioritize concurrent tasks under time constraints.
Ability to work collaboratively and develop strong working relationships. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary.
Occasionally work requires more than 37.5 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Analytics or related field required.
Four or more years of progressively related work experience. Expertise and in-depth knowledge of all aspects of accounting systems and reporting. Experience with professional services law firm preferred.
Experience working with and writing complex database queries. Experience in extracting and reporting of data using SQL and Business Intelligence tools.
Demonstrated expertise with Microsoft Excel, including advanced features, including but not limited to Power Query, pivot tables, advanced formulas, macros, filtering, and graphs.
