By targeting experienced professionals, partnering with the best universities, and recruiting straight from the top programs in logistics and operations, we support our vision to be on the cutting edge of transportation.Job Description The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst will have an integral role in the operations of a $1.5 B transportation and logistics company that has successfully acquired and integrated over 25 companies in the last 5 years. This individual will be the primary preparer of quarterly and annual external reports required by the Company’s SEC Rule 144A debt issuance. In addition to preparing SEC Regulation S-X and S-K compliant financial statements, the Senior Financial Reporting Analyst will prepare various roll forward schedules, reconciliations, and KPI summary files necessary to support the financial statement disclosures. This individual will be a key contact for the Company’s auditors and assist in the completion of the annual audit and quarterly reviews. In addition to providing support requests to the auditors, this individual will prepare whitepapers to support the Company’s positions on various accounting topics. Additionally, the Senior Financial Reporting Analyst will be the primary preparer of the quarterly investor presentation. Between reporting periods, the Senior Financial Reporting Analyst will assist the VP of Financial Reporting in completing various projects intended to add value to the Company’s internal and external reporting, as well as accommodate support requests from the Company’s Sponsors and the Board of Directors.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: • Prepare all external reports of the Company, in accordance with Regulations S X and S K • Assist in preparation of quarterly investor call and Board of Director presentations • Serve as a key contact for annual audit and quarterly reviews • Prepare various rollforward schedules and reconciliations to support financial statement disclosures • Prepare various technical accounting whitepapers • Support the implementation of new accounting standards across the organization and advise on technical accounting issues, such as purchase accounting for newly acquired businesses • Assisting with the evaluation of accounting treatment for non-routine transactions • Assist the VP of Financial Reporting in establishing and maintaining internal controls, including the documentation of process narratives and development of risk and controls matrices. • Assist in the preparation of ad hoc reports to accommodate Sponsor and Board of Director requestsQualifications QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE Must have a BS in Accounting with a Master level degree highly preferred. A minimum of 2 years of public accounting experience required. CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES CPA license is highly preferred COMMUNICATION SKILLS Excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ability to interact comfortably with senior level management. The Business Analyst operates as a resource to multiple teams within the organization. The position will be responsible for providing insight and actionable data to all of Protective's operational functions. This position will primarily provide analysis through reporting, data usage, tuning of current tools and adapting new tools. This position will work across platforms to connect dots and tell a fuller story from both a customer and employee perspective. The ability to tell these stories in a way that can be easily consumed and actioned on by the business will be key to success. This individual must understand and assess current state of the business process, technology, needs and gaps. ***This role will be titled Analyst II Business Systems within the organization.*** Responsibilities <ul><ul>The Business Analyst will be responsible for job functions including but not limited to the following: <li>Gather, review, and analyze business data, including KPIs, and other key metrics using data analytics tools.</li><li>Ability to effectively communicate and influence key stakeholders to support proposed strategies, process improvements and operational decisions</li><li>Provide performance feedback with leadership regarding metrics</li><li>Generate and provide reports through PowerBI and SSRS understanding value add and how the consumer plans to use the data.</li><li>Helps with integration and implementation new technologies</li><li>Resourcefulness and ability to devise creative solutions to problems</li><li>Use data modelling techniques to identify ways in which an organization can operate more effectively</li><li>Thrive as a team player in a fast paced, change oriented environment</li><li>Other duties as required by manager</li></ul></ul> Education/Qualifications <ul><ul><li>Bachelor's degree required</li><li>Strong analytical skills, being data curious, and attention to detail required </li><li>Minimum 3 years of relevant experience</li><li>Advanced Excel Skills</li><li>VBA is a plus</li><li>Ability to story tell trends and connect dots through analysis by department and cross-departmental.</li><li>Experience with SSMS preferred</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, specifically Excel</li><li>Experience with data visualization tools (PowerBI preferred or Tableau) </li><li>Prior experience in an Agile environment is a plus</li><li>Strong communication and presentation skills required, both written and verbal.</li></ul></ul> Protective's targeted salary range for this position is $59,500 to $90,000. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to, job location, skills, and experience. The range listed is just one component of Protective's total compensation package for employees.
