The Opportunity
Our Princeton, NJ location has an opportunity for an Engineering Manager responsible for leading the Instrument Operations technical group within APOC that is responsible for i-STAT hardware system on market support. Relocation assistance provided for right candidate.
In this role, the Engineering Manager will ensure that processes and staffing are appropriately developed and implemented, set strategic vision/goals in alignment with organization, drive utilization of engineering tools including root cause analysis, design for manufacturability, and LEAN to improve manufacturing processes, yields, and equipment during the manufacturing stages of the product and ensure executional compliance within the organization to all applicable internal requirements and external regulations. What you’ll do
Manage manufacturing process, equipment, material, and supplier technical challenges and quality-related events to maximize production line up time, yield, and on-time delivery.
Laisse with local manufacturing team as well as Third Party Manufacturers in Asia and other suppliers to ensure production and project goals are met.
Manage the identification and qualification of end-of-life BOM components to ensure availability of raw materials.
Ensure professional project management techniques are utilized to identify and shorten the critical path tasks in Design Change Package (DCP)/project delivery schedules.
Coordinates across functional areas and or business units to achieve company and/or area goals.
Manage change planning integration with the Manufacturing Software Engineering department to ensure smooth software deployment to manufacturing lines.
Review and approve documents including standard operating procedures, technical specifications, and protocols/reports.
Interface with external agencies during site audits.
Champion a culture of teamwork, communication, and recognition.
Recruit, manage, coach, and develop engineering and technical talent.
Derive, defend, and adhere to the annual budget for overhead headcount and expenses, project expenses, and capital required to maintain manufacturing operations and implement the necessary cost improvement, supply continuity, product lifecycle management, and regulatory driven changes needed to support the business.
Support a culture that embraces the safety of the work environment and the safety of our customer’s patients by compliance with company EHS procedures, policies, and GMP requirements.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical, Biochemistry or other applicable STEM fields).
7+ years of relevant work experience or equivalent experience in appropriate business disciplines (such as quality, operations, engineering) with organizations engaged in the manufacture of FDA or similarly regulated products.
3+ years of managing technical team (direct or dotted line).
Strong analytical/technical knowledge and skills to lead organization through collation and analysis of manufacturing data and creation of strategic and tactical plans to achieve goals, drive continuous improvement, and address system, equipment, and process issues.
Effective communication, leadership skills, and experience influencing cross functional organizations such as R&D, Operations, Quality, and other disciplines to achieve project, business, and/or company goals.
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of experience in the medical device industry or with a tangential industry that is regulated similarly to ISO13485.
2+ years of experience in design control and product documentation (Bills of Material, Work Instructions, Drawings, Incoming Inspection) systems.
1+ year of experience working with Project Management concepts and tools.
Strong organizational skills to lead team/department to achieve diverse set of goals and quality system output requirements.
Experience with the manufacture or design of electro/mechanical products.
Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, problem solving, and time management skills. Ability/experience to execute and mentor others on the utilization of technical tools such as root cause analysis, LEAN, and six sigma.

This is an Engineering position, Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required Equiliem is searching for a Senior Project Manager for our client's Health and Sciences Department located in Princeton, NJ. We have an immediate need for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join us in providing industry-leading design and consulting services to our clients. Our focus is to provide cutting-edge and creative design solutions firmly grounded in proven technologies and evidence-based design. POSITION SUMMARY As the Senior Project Manager, you will serve as the technical lead for design execution of projects. You will oversee all project design activities and serve as the primary point of contact for the client on the project. You will also be responsible for the design quality, delivery of contracted scope, and meeting project objectives, requirements, schedules, and budget. RESPONSIBILITIES • Serve as technical subject matter expert for multiple areas of mechanical engineering. • Supervise and manage assigned engineers on each project, providing technical guidance, training and support for junior engineers. • Perform calculations, modeling, engineering, and code research as required. • Conduct peer review, technical oversight and quality control of design team's work products. • Provide hands-on project management by consistently reviewing project plans and timelines to ensure projects are on time and on budget. Make adjustments to staffing and resources as needed to meet deadlines and budget constraints. • Organize and facilitate internal and external client meetings ensuring that all action items are documented and completed. • Provide project coordination with all involved in the project; internal, external, sub-contractors, etc. • Work with the VP of group to respond to client issued RFPs. Collaborates with group VP to develop and write bid proposals, contracts, cost estimates, budgets, etc. using the agreed upon company methods and standards. • Establish and maintain excellent client relationship with the goal of maintaining existing clients and receiving referrals for new clients. • Ensure accurate project accounting, ensuring that project setup, monthly invoicing and accounts receivables are done on a timely basis and in compliance with accounting protocols. • Participate in trade conferences, business development activities and promotion of commercial and marketing activities.
