<strong>The Team:</strong><br><br>CIC’s Platform App Services team owns foundational services that protect the Platform’s stability and improve operational efficiency for our product services. We use a modern cloud-native tech stack that runs on AWS and Azure. We’ve adopted frameworks, tooling, and practices that optimize for developer productivity and joy.
<p>As Engineering Manager of the Platform App Services team, you'll be the technical leader responsible for guiding a team of 5-8 backend engineers to build and operate CIC’s mission-critical platform services. You will help drive technical decisions, prioritize and organize the team’s work, and provide mentorship and career growth opportunities to your team members. </p>
<p><strong>What you’ll do:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Lead a diverse, talented, high-performing team of backend engineers, geographically dispersed over Europe and the Americas</li>
<li>Encourage inclusivity, engagement, innovation, and quality orientation on the team</li>
<li>Grow the team through hiring, coaching, and professional development</li>
<li>Be an active and influential contributor in prioritization, technical decision-making, and architecture reviews</li>
<li>Continually refine the team’s ways of working and team-external processes, to deliver a sustainable and predictable flow of value</li>
<li>Ensure technical maturity, reliability, security, and operational excellence for services owned by team</li>
<li>Shape roadmap and strategy for the CIC Platform, working with product management and with other engineering teams</li>

<p><strong>What we’re looking for:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>3+ years of experience in a formal people management role</li>
<li>Experience working with remote and geographically dispersed teams</li>
<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, to engage effortlessly across teams and functions</li>
<li>Effective presentation skills to establish thought leadership in the team’s domain</li>
<li>Background in developing cloud-native distributed systems using modern technologies such as go, node.js, noSQL databases, Kubernetes, and AWS/Azure</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Bonus Points:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Experience in the identity and access management (IAM) business domains</li>
<li>Experience at an enterprise SaaS product organization</li>
<li>Hands-on experience with operating and scaling high-throughput cloud-based software systems</li>
<li>Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field</li>
<li>Master’s degree in a relevant field</li>
