Position DescriptionBusiness Analyst/Data Analyst - The candidate is primarily responsible for analyzing data and producing various reports using SQL, EXCEL and Tableau. The candidate will be working with the Agency's leadership team to understand the goals and will create various visualizations and presentations that transform data into the basis for the agency's financial decisions. The candidate is responsible for: A) Producing annual report exhibits and visualizations, statistical reports, projections and forecast analysis by using multiple databases. B) Researching quality measure specifications, validating denominators, numerators and final rates which are generated and submitted to the regulatory agency. C) Preparing and analyzing cost report information (nursing homes, hospitals and other providers) into comparative reports to assess profitability and solvency. D) Developing agency short and long-term forecasting models, accounting for significant variables which influence outcomes. E) Facilitate data integration from financial systems, claim systems, eligibility systems and third-party sources into adhoc and standardized reports for the agency. F) Providing accurate reports in a timely manner for all the share-point requests.Skills RequiredAdvanced professional level role. Advanced Microsoft Excel, SQL programming to query data and Tableau visualization skills are required. Proficiency with MS office tools, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to set and meet deadlines, good reporting and data visualization skills, excellent attention to details and ability to work in high pressure situations. ROLE SUMMARY The Data Analyst is a hands-on position focused on defining the data needs, gathering requirements, and designing reports pertaining to Commercial Insurance. The position will work within IT to help Sompo International create Insurance related reporting - operations, compliance financial actuarial etc. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Works with business stakeholders and IT teams to define data needs for the reporting requirements. Creates source to target mapping documents to capture application data elements for loading from source systems into the enterprise data warehouse. Collaborates with ETL team to ensure that source to target mappings are correctly translated into ETL code. Performs data validation to confirm reports are represented correctly. Experience of creating Insurance related reporting - operations, compliance financial actuarial etc. Knowledge of Guidewire Policy Center, Guidewire Claims Center, SAP FS-RI & SAP FS-CD applications and their data is a huge plus. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team. TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS 5+ years of data warehouse experience. 3 years P&C Insurance subject matter experience (Policy and Claims). Strong knowledge of PowerBI/Cognos. Advanced SQL knowledge for Data Analytics. Cloud exposure will be a plus. Good knowledge of Data Warehousing and BI Architectures, concepts, and frameworks. Proven experience in Data Modeling, Data mapping, Reports designing. Capable of creating and tuning Semantic layer Reporting Views.
