This Sr. Business Analyst role at Skyworks Solutions is a pivotal position that requires a dynamic individual with a strong background in the semiconductor industry. This role is responsible for spearheading initiatives to enhance cost efficiency, bolster gross margins, and support market share expansion in the mobile market business segment.
This role reports directly to the Director of Product Line Management for the Mobile Solutions Business unit and can be located in our Newbury Park or Irvine, CA location.
In this role, you will work synergistically with the IT and data science departments to forge advanced online analytical tools to process and interpret vast data sets, discern trends, and formulate actionable strategies. These strategies will be instrumental in guiding the design engineering and manufacturing teams resulting in refined product costs and increased gross margin. The successful candidate will influence cross-functional teams, including finance, sourcing, marketing, program management, design engineering, and manufacturing, to realize the company's objectives.
Key Responsibilities: Collaboration: Partner with Skyworks' IT department and data science teams to enhance Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools, ensuring high data integrity standards and streamlined analysis and reporting processes.
Data Management: Define and drive the implementation of robust methods for collecting, processing, and analyzing large datasets to extract meaningful insights through collaboration with IT.
BOM Review: Ensure accuracy and consistency across various systems such as SAP, Agile, Hyperion, and others by reviewing and updating the Bill of Materials (BOM) for new products.
Cost Optimization: Utilize data automation techniques to analyze product cost trends to identify and implement cost-saving measures to improve gross margin.
Communication: Effectively present data findings and strategic insights to stakeholders clearly and concisely.
Predictive Analytics: Define and oversee the implementation of statistical and machine learning models to uncover patterns, trends, and predictions within data sets by collaborating with the data science team and data engineering from IT.
Model Management: Regularly assess the performance of analytical models, optimizing and recalibrating as needed to maintain accuracy and relevance.
Required Experience and Skills: Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, statistics, mathematics, business or a related field.
8 or more years of relevant experience.
Knowledge and/or proficiency in P&L management.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing processes and technologies.
Preferred Experience and Skills: Experience with data analysis and modeling tools such as Microsoft SQL.
MBA or Finance background.
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $110,600 - $210,600 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Job Title: PLM Business Analyst

The Business Analyst Senior Associate will be a key member of the program team working towards the implementation of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) at client. As a part of this cross-functional team within the Combination Product Operations (CPO) organization, you would assist with the deployment of the 3DEXPERIENCE PLM platform from Dassault Systems, that will help digitize technology transfer throughout client’s manufacturing network. The CPO Process Engineering team is focused on executing right-the-first-time technology transfers enabling the business by improving speed of developing, manufacturing, and distributing combination products to our stakeholders and patients.
The successful candidate will work in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) within a product team working towards delivering capabilities across manufacturing process planning, requirement management, process controls, etc., acting as a voice of customer, ensuring the user needs are adequately met within the PLM platform. Additionally, the candidate will provide user support and feedback for system updates, enhancements, and data migration, and support the business in onboarding and training users in digitalized workflows and new capabilities.
Top 3 Must Have Skill Sets: Demonstrated prior work experience as a business systems analyst in the implementation of PLM and successful training and onboarding of users onto a PLM platform in a large multi-national company.
Prior understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements and their implication on software deployment is a plus.
Intellectual curiosity with ability to learn new concepts/frameworks, algorithms, and technology rapidly as needs arise.
Day to Day Responsibilities: Document business processes for CPO Process Engineering (including but not limited to Manufacturing Process Design, Process Requirement Specifications, Process Controls, etc.) in collaboration with appropriate SMEs within CPO Process Engineering and help identify gaps/opportunities for digitalization.
Own, maintain, and update business process documentation as per changes to source functional Standard operating procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), updated digital workflows, etc.
Own development and delivery of appropriate training to relevant user groups within CPO.
Super user in PLM production environment and maintains CPO Process Engineering templates.
Escalate issues/requests to relevant PLM Product owners as necessary.
Collect and document enhancement requests for CPO Process Engineering workflows within PLM.
Assist with development and execution of Sprint testing and User Acceptance testing (UATs).
Build functional area support network (appropriate SMEs/Process owners, etc.) to ensure up-to-date business process and needs documentation and input to PLM product team.
Support definition of functional area requirements for PLM platform and help manage User stories within the product backlog.
Support representation of functional area use cases in PLM Product/ Community/ Governance meetings.
