Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Maps Automation:  Develop, implement, and optimize generative AI models to automate map creation, enhance spatial data accuracy, and enrich the map's visual and contextual quality in real time using multi-model data and crowdsourced input.
User-Centric AI Features:  Design and deploy AI-powered features that improve exploration, discovery, navigation, deliver personalized recommendations, and support accessibility for diverse users.
Collaboration:  Work cross-functionally with applied scientists, data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to integrate generative AI capabilities seamlessly into Apple Maps products and services.
Scalability & Optimization:  Create scalable AI solutions to handle global map data, ensuring reliability and consistency across various geographies and cultures.
Responsible AI:  Advocate for and implement ethical AI practices, ensuring fairness, transparency, and alignment to Apple’s privacy principles in all generative AI applications.
AI-Assisted Business Tools:  Innovate tools for business owners to manage and optimize their presence on Apple Maps using AI insights and generative solutions.
Emerging Technologies:  Explore and apply state-of-the-art advancements in multi-model generative AI, deep learning, and natural language processing to create unique, future-ready mapping experiences.
Minimum Qualifications
MS in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning or equivalent field with 10+ years of applied AI research and product development experience
Proven experience in Generative AI/LLMs/Foundation Models with a proven track record of deploying solutions in production
Strong programming experience in one or more of the following: Java, C++, Python
Experience with ML frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch
Strong collaboration driven track record of execution and delivery
Familiarity with privacy-preserving techniques, ethical AI practices and responsible AI deployment.
Deliver as a technical team lead; guiding a set of engineers and applied scientists
Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to tackle complex, large-scale challenges
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with executive presence
Preferred Qualifications
PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or equivalent field

Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $207,800 and $378,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
