Noblis is seeking Software Engineers to assist National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) Airspace Operations (AO) efforts. The work will support the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) National Campaign. The candidate will provide full software development lifecycle services spanning the design, development, test, and deployment of innovative software solutions with a strong emphasis on user experience, human factors, and software quality to enhance FAA operations.

Responsibilities:

Develop principles to adapt to user requirements and improve the software based on user feedback.

Manage and track software development tasks through regular team tagups and with the JIRA tracking tool.

Log new features and bug fixes as JIRA issues for resolution by the software team.

Audit the JIRA issues to ensure that proper levels of details are included for use in documentation such as software release notes and for the testers of the software.

Perform testing, integration and deployment tasks for collaboration demonstrations.

Summarize data collection from demonstration.

Create or update scripts to set up the automated software builds for the collaboration demonstration system.

Required Qualifications

A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated expertise in systems engineering, including strategic planning, innovative concepts, thought leadership, and team management

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research, Human Factors Engineering, or a related discipline

Eligibility to obtain NASA Suitability

Experience with general NoSQL databases, specifically design and development of knowledge graph software systems dealing with structured and unstructured data

Experience with general software development for cloud computing services and micro-services architecture

Experience working with scripting languages like Python, R, AngularJS and Javascript

Knowledge of NASA/FAA airspace systems, ideally existing UTM data models

Experience with design and implementation (including build, test, release, deploy and configuration) activities of related applications

Proficiency in DevOps discipline and processes supporting Continuous Delivery Tools such as Jenkins, Git, Ansible, CloudFormation

Expertise in Docker container technology and associated functionality

US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a US government clearance

Responsibilities:

Develop coding, debugging, testing and troubleshooting throughout the application development process.

Design and develop software applications.

Validate & verify testing and data analysis support to expand capabilities for research and simulations. Includes analysis support for simulation on the conflict severity evaluation, flight performance models and separation service software and simulation tools.

Perform the development of separation assurance requirements for separation standards towards airspace, including a set of use cases for separation standards.

Perform research activities designed to determine requirements for the development of candidate set of Airspace Services.

Contribute to moderately complex aspects of a project.

Required Qualifications

Responsibilities

Noblis MSD is hiring a Software Engineer to support the Guided Missile Frigate (FFG) Program Office. The Software Engineer supports network architecture engineering for system certification and accreditation. They support the assessment, development and maintenance of a System of Systems Architecture Framework in accordance with requirements for the ashore or afloat platform baseline and provide assistance with system requirements for information assurance activities.

Responsibilities:

Provide support for the risk management program, facilitating risk board meetings and assessments, and develop or maintain an interactive, web-accessible risk database.

Provide network architecture engineering support by reviewing, analyzing, and developing engineering documents for a network system, information system, and for system certification and accreditation (C&A).

Assess, develop and maintain a System of Systems (SoS) Architecture Framework in accordance with guidelines for the ashore or afloat platform baseline.

Review or develop a cybersecurity architecture for Frigate ashore and afloat platform SoS by evaluating design and developing protection profiles, boundary defense capability.

Review and assess SoS design, identify software vulnerability, and risk management to ensure cybersecurity and Frigate Mission requirements are satisfied. Identify deficiencies and issues and recommend mitigation solutions.

Follow all applicable DoD, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and Committee on National Security System Instruction (CNSSI) data security requirements and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) from the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA).

Provide Enterprise Application Accreditation and Cybersecurity support by reviewing and assessing Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) tool, and Network Mapper (Nmap).

Provide support for the Cybersecurity Test & Evaluation across all phases as defined in the DOD Cybersecurity T&E Guidebook.

Participate as directed in inspection of all IT systems after installation aboard a frigate and note discrepancies against approved build specifications and PARM system requirements.

Participate in Test & Trials to help determine functionality of IT systems before ship delivery as assigned and directed.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Programming, Math, Cybersecurity or equivalent and 3+ years relevant professional experience; or an equivalent amount of professional work experience

Must have a DoD Secret or ability to obtain active Secret Clearance

Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Programming, Math, Cybersecurity or equivalent.

CSDA, CSDP, or equivalent certification
