This position is located in **Sterling, VA** . In this position, the successful candidate will: + Performs advanced software engineering and analysis. Conducts quality control review, data reporting, and writes/reviews technical documents. + Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs new and existing software systems, hardware/software interfaces, and/or applications according to industry established software engineering principals and best practices. + Works collaboratively within a team to execute the full system development lifecycle, including analyzing user needs to determine technical requirements; developing technical specifications based on conceptual design and requirements; developing well?crafted and documented source code; integrating hardware using software; automating manual tasks; and consulting with the end users to prototype, configure, refine, test, and debug programs or systems. + Identifies and evaluates new technologies or methods for implementation and continuous improvementy. **Responsibilities** + Performs complex assignments by compiling and evaluating design and test data, preparing technical specifications, analyzing technical data to determine appropriate limits and variables for software systems, hardware/software interfaces, and/or applications. + Analyzes and interprets data collected. + Prepares technical reports and makes presentations to client, both formal and informal. + Conducts and leads small technical projects or phases of technical projects. + May provide technical direction to and coordinate the efforts of software engineers and technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects within time and budget constraints. + Prepares technical sections of proof of concept design documents, white papers and presentations.
