GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
Quad is currently seeking an Optimization Specialist to join our Data Science team based in Sussex, WI. The applicant should have expertise in prescriptive analytics, developing algorithms, heuristics and approximation methods to solve complex optimization problems.  In this role you will work closely with business partners and our I.T department to solve the most complex analytical opportunities by developing solutions answering “what should we do” given a project’s proposed requirements and available datasets. 
You will contribute to all aspects of the SLDC from project scope, requirements, design, testing, deployment, and support. The ideal candidate will have a deep passion for data driven analytics, team building, collaboration and proven experience providing analytical insights to strategic decision makers at Quad.

Responsibilities:
            Project Management
<ul>
 <li>Partner with project stakeholders, cross functional IT teams and your Data Science team to determine project scope, requirements, functional and technical design and expected results.</li>
 <li>Work closely with Data Science Team to plan and execute deliverables according to the principals of Agile Software Development.</li>
</ul>
 
Algorithm & Software Development Process
<ul>
 <li>Design and implement models and algorithms prescriptive disciplines of data science and applied mathematics to support strategic business decisions and automated integration with business processes/system.</li>
 <li>Continuously monitor and improve existing models as business direction as corresponding data sets evolve.</li>
 <li>Write automated data collection routines: processing, transforming, and storing data in support of machine learning projects.</li>
 <li>Develop and automate continuous training models and required reporting.</li>
 <li>Security considerations are included within scope of all software solution design.</li>
</ul>
 
Data Analysis & Insight
<ul>
 <li>Analyze large data sets to determine patterns and support decision making within project design to produce actionable scope.</li>
 <li>Effectively present complex data concepts and recommended insights to non-technical stakeholder.</li>
 <li>Collaborate with business areas and IT Development Teams to integrate data science into business processes and viable solutions.</li>
</ul>
 
Operational Support
<ul>
 <li>Provide timely and accurate production support responsibilities within defined SLAs to business partners.</li>
 <li>Proactively engage with fellow team members, the I.T. Department and Business Stakeholders to monitor and strengthen the data science platform.</li>
</ul>
 
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications

 <li>Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Math, Statistics, or related with an optimization concentration.</li>
 <li>3-5 years experience in Data Science application development and application of principals to successful business solutions.</li>
 <li>Experience of neural network libraries such as Jax, PyTorch, etc.</li>
 <li>Working knowledge of big data technologies (Databricks, Spark)</li>
 <li>Experience with software tools such as: Python, Pandas, NumPy.</li>
 <li>Demonstrated understanding and application of linear and logistic regression, probability theory or SVM, and related properties of distributions and statistical tests.</li>
 <li>Demonstrated understanding and application of optimization algorithms across Gradient-Based, Second-Order and Evolutionary & Direct Search. </li>
 <li>Strong problem-solving and object-oriented development skills</li>
 <li>Excellent communication and technical writing skills.</li>
 <li>Desire and ambition jointly build and strengthen data science solutions as part of a collaborative and respectful team environment.</li>
 <li>Unrestricted Work Authorization in the US.</li>
</ul>
Preferred Qualifications

 <li>Experience SQL and database management platforms.</li>
