**Job Description** Job Description: The Applied Analytics & Insights team is focused on execution-based analytics to help GM Organizations achieve better business outcomes through contextualized solutions with targeted actions. The data science manager will lead a multi-disciplinary team of various experience levels that will be driving solution design, development, and deployment of analytic models in support of business facing analytic groups. The individual will also work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team of various experience levels that frame opportunities, wrangle the necessary data, and design and execute analytical models in support of better business decisions. The team is responsible for both data science strategy and applied project-based solutions, focusing on the companys most critical business areas. Multiple data science manager positions are open, with a focus on one of the following business functions: + Digital Business + Growth Businesses (Electric Vehicles and Strategy & Innovation) Responsibilities include the following: + Collaborate with internal analytical teams and business stakeholders to identify, frame, develop, and execute high-impact analytics projects successfully + Lead a cross-functional team to develop and implement data science solutions that address business challenges and deliver value across a variety of business units + Work with diverse technical teams and provide data and analytical oversight to ensure project deliverables fulfill business needs and timing + Foster team innovation and culture to experiment with new methods + Create an environment that will not only support but encourage individual excellence and Workplace of Choice engagement. + Identify long-term technical innovations and collaborate with the Analytics Research COE **Additional Job Description** Skills & Qualifications: + 7+ years of experience in Data Science in a corporate setting + 2+ years of experience successfully leading data science technical teams or work + Prior experience with statistical modeling, machine learning and/or deep learning techniques. Familiarity with one or more analytical tools such as Python, R, Tableau, and Power BI. + Prior experience with Databricks /Azure services (Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Power BI) or AWS tools (SageMaker, Glue, EMR) or GCP (Dataflow, Big Query, Cloud Run) is a plus + Ability to evaluate the big picture and solve business problems rather than focusing solely on metrics + Strong drive for results and intellectual curiosity; must be a self-starter + Ability to train, mentor, and evaluate the technical capabilities of others + Prior experience evaluating and/or hiring high-performing talent + Strong project management skills with demonstrated successes + Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects at once without sacrificing quality + Excellent team player with strong interpersonal skills and highly collaborative work style + Excellent oral, listening, presentation, and written communication skills + Desired domain expertise in one or more of the following: digital services, customer care and aftersales, electric vehicles, strategy and innovation, or sales, brand, and dealer Education and Experience: + Masters Degree or Ph.D. in Data Science, Analytics, Operations Research, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or other quantitative field **Remote:** The position can be performed remotely from the US most of the time, but the employee may be asked to come on-site approximately four times per year **Compensation:** The expected base compensation for this role is **: $104,700 - $163,800** .
