We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. Key Responsibilities:

Required Skills & Qualifications:     Extensive experience with AWS technologies, particularly AWS Redshift.
Proven expertise in designing and building scalable data pipelines.
Solid understanding of database architecture and data modeling principles.
Proficient in SQL and familiarity with other programming languages such as Python.
Experience with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
Strong leadership, communication, and collaborative abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:     Previous experience in the financial industry is highly desirable.

Design, implement, and maintain data models using dbt to transform raw data into analytics-ready datasets
Create and optimize data pipelines using Airflow to ensure reliable and timely data delivery
Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver appropriate data solutions
Establish testing frameworks and data quality checks to maintain data integrity throughout the pipeline
Apply software engineering best practices to data engineering workflows to improve code quality and maintainability

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS     Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
2+ years of experience building data pipelines and data models
Experience with dbt including Views, Tables, and Incremental models
Experience with Airflow including DAG creation and backfill processes
Experience with SQL and data warehouse technologies like Redshift
Proficiency in Python including package management and modular programming
Experience with managing code with git and providing feedback within code-reviews

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS     Experience with Jinja templating in dbt and advanced dbt usage such as testing and versioning models
Knowledge of data warehouse optimization techniques including distribution and sort keys in Redshift
Experience with dynamic DAG generation using JSON or dictionaries in Airflow
Experience with object-oriented programming in Python
Experience working in an agile development environment
Knowledge of data visualization tools like Tableau or Looker

The Prudential Insurance Company of America Director, Data Engineer in Newark, New Jersey  Director, Data Engineer (The Prudential Insurance Company of America, Newark, NJ): Build the design and development of highly scalable and efficient data architectures that align with business requirements and support analytical use-cases. Provide technical guidance to the data engineering team, offering guidance on best practices, coding standards, and architectural designs. Design and implement robust ETL/ELT pipelines, leveraging AWS Cloud, Big Data technologies (Spark & Python), and Snowflake for seamless data ingestion, transformation, and loading from diverse sources. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Electronic Engineering, or a related field and 8 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience.

Designing, building, and maintaining efficient, reusable, and reliable architecture and code.
Ensure the best possible performance and quality of high-scale web applications and services.
Participate in architecture and system design discussions.
Independently perform hands-on development and unit testing of the applications.
Collaborate with the development team and build individual components into complex enterprise web systems.
Work in a team environment with product, frontend design, production operation, QE/QA, and cross-functional teams to deliver a project throughout the whole software development cycle.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:     Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, MIS, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience implementing and supporting data lakes, data warehouses, and data applications on  AWS or Microsoft Azure for large enterprises (Fabric is plus)
Programming experience with  Python, Spark and SQL.
Experience with Microsoft Azure services, specifically Data Factory, ADLS Gen2, Synapse Analytics, and Synapse Database, KQL.
Experience in system analysis, design, development, and implementation of data ingestion pipelines in AWS or Azure.
Solid experience implementing solutions on AWS or  Azure-based data lakes (preferred).
Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes.
Experience with end-to-end data solutions (ingest, storage, integration, processing, access) on AWS or Azure  (preferred).
Architect and implement CI/CD strategies for EDP.
Implement high-velocity streaming solutions.
Migrate data from traditional relational database systems, onprem to Azure technologies (preferably in Onelake using Fabric technologies -  (preferred ).
Develop data-based APIs
Implement POCs on any new technology or tools to be implemented on EDP and onboard for real use-cases.
Any Cloud Certification preferred (Azure / AWS preferred)
Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric technology focusing on cost and security considerations.
Requirements:     5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer/Datalakes .
Experience developing business applications using NoSQL/SQL databases.
Experience working with Object stores and Structured/semi-structured/unstructured data is a must.
Experience with Microsoft Azure services - Data Factory, ADLS Gen2, Synapse Analytics, and Synapse Database.
Develop CI/CD pipeline using Terraform and github
