The Opportunity Working under the general direction of the Manager/Director of Central Billing Office, dedicated to Patient Billing Solutions and Customer Service services, the Business Analyst II is responsible for analyzing trends, preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual metrics and support all the managers in work queue production and trending and QC analysis. Working as an integral and active member of CBO and Analytic team designed to provide continued support and process improvement initiatives. Principal Duties • Key contributor in a high-profile group responsible for collection of the AR by resolving problems which delay billed and collection of revenue. • Works directly with Hospital Departments to resolve billing issues and work queue completion. • Provide analysis of various work queue trends and make recommendations regarding process improvements in the workflow. Prepared detailed reports to support projects and presentations. • Develop and recommend solutions for the above issues based on information obtained in case studies and reviews. • Participate and lead projects related to revenue cycle & payor issues. • Work as part of the overall CBO team, support key analytical and technical processes. Interact with other units or departments as needed to achieve overall goals. • Document procedures and processes of department functions. • Execute audits of unit performance in accordance with established policies. • Review and monitor various performance and account progress of work queues, CRMs, In-basket messages, phone reports, and agency performance data. • Generate routine and ad hoc reports, analyzes to identify trends and issues, and recommends resolution to improve deficiencies or prevent ongoing issues. • Assist in staff training of policies and procedures. • Assist Managers and Director to obtain necessary information, such as state and federal guidelines, to facilitate department operations. • Keep current in industry HIPAA revenue cycle standards to enable independent work. • Performs other duties and tasks, or projects as assigned. • Manage and track all Open E-Ticket requests/enhancements to ensure efficiency across CBO.Qualifications: Qualifications • Bachelor’s or relevant experience and training required. • Epic system and knowledge preferred. • 3-5 years relevant experience in a health care setting desired. Skills and Abilities • Effective verbal and written communication, organizational and problem-solving skills required. • Knowledge of medical/hospital billing systems and third party payment processes desired. Competency with Epic HB, PB and SBO functions through prior training or through a combination of training classes and peer-to-peer training. • Intermediate skills in Outlook, Microsoft Suite and Visio needed to perform all range of assignments. • HIPAA Privacy guidelines. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously to completion. • Ability to meet deadlines and excel in a fast-paced environment.EEO Statement Mass General Brigham is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
